Daily Verse: Romans 13:13
Romans 13:13 in the New American Standard Bible (NASB) version reads as follows:
“Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy.”
In this verse, the Apostle Paul is admonishing believers to live uprightly and responsibly. The term carousing, refers to engaging in reckless and wild behavior, often associated with excessive drinking and partying. Paul contrasts such behavior with the call for believers to live with self-control, avoiding behaviors like drunkenness, sexual promiscuity, sensuality, strife, and jealousy. The verse emphasizes the importance of living in a way that reflects the moral and ethical values of the Christian faith.
